Ben is the director and founder of Prevalent.
He studied at the University of Sydney, the University of Tokyo, and in conjunction with Princeton and Harvard Universities. He received degrees in Architecture & Engineering with a perfect GPA. After working in Sydney, Ben worked for SANAA, Jun'ya Ishigami, Jun Sato Structural Engineering, and Sou Fujimoto, working on projects in more than 15 countries, whilst being based in Tokyo and Paris.
He established Prevalent in Sydney & Newcastle in 2017.
Ben, operating as Prevalent, is a prototype winner of the Lexus Design Award, and recipient of the Newcastle Architectural Medal, amongst other accolades. He teaches and lectures on sustainability and design at the University of Sydney, and the University of Technology Sydney.
He volunteers on the Tōhoku coast - an area devastated by the 2011 Japan tsunami, and provides architectural services pro bono to those in need.
Beyond this, he also runs study tours to Japan, in conjunction with the University of Technology Sydney, the University of Tokyo, the Kyoto Institute of Design, and Kyushu University.
He is a strategic advisor to the Sydney Nano institute on the integration of nanotechnology into buildings for sustainable benefit, and has been a global advocate of sustainability for Lexus, Dyson, and Vattenfall.
